and 50 American Heroes Every Kid Should Meet

"Children need to see that they can achieve just like real heroes - they can make mistakes, learn from them, keep striving, and eventually succeed. I CAN is a powerful message that REAL heroes can teach." - Dr. Dennis Denenberg

Classroom Close-up featured the Heroes Fair at Arthur Rann Elementary in Galloway Township, New Jersey. At the end of each school year, the fifth graders choose and research their hero and present them at The Heroes Fair. The Heroes Fair was started by Mrs. Ginny Bisignaro, a 2001 graduate of Millersville University. It has been held almost every year of her 10 year teaching career. The project was adapted from Dr. Denenberg's Heroes Fair at Millersville University.
